The Main Orchestra
The original orchestra was set up in 2001 by Director of Music and Conductor, Jan Modelski and since then has grown not only in numbers of players but has also made incredible progress in terms of confidence, repertoire and standard of performance, gaining an increasing reputation in the orchestral music scene in the Chester area.
We play at least 2 concerts a year as well as additionally playing at various charity events. Our repertoire is always varied and challenging, including works by Beethoven, Mozart, Bizet, Gershwin and Elgar as well as the film music of John Williams and Hans Zimmer.
There is no entry requirement, but to give a rough indication, players are usually around Grade 5 level and above.
Rehearsals are on Saturdays, starting at 11:30am and finishing around 1.30pm. See the Orchestra News page for half-term dates and other changes.
